Ultrafiltration (UF) Plant Technical Details
Process Description: UF is a pressure-driven membrane separation process that removes suspended solids, colloids, and larger molecules from water, typically used as a pre-treatment or for polishing applications.
Inlet Water Parameters:
- Turbidity: up to 100 NTU;
- Total Suspended Solids (TSS): up to 200 mg/L;
- pH: 6.0-9.0;
- Temperature: 5-40°C.
Outlet Water Parameters:
- Turbidity: < 0.1 NTU;
- TSS: < 1 mg/L;
- SDI (Silt Density Index): < 3;
- pH: 6.5-8.5.
Plant Capacity Range:
- Small-scale: 10-100 m3/day;
- Medium-scale: 100-1,000 m3/day;
- Large-scale: 1,000-10,000 m3/day or higher,
suitable for municipal and industrial water treatment.
Nanofiltration (NF) Plant Technical Details
Process Description: NF is a membrane filtration technique that operates at higher pressures than UF and can remove divalent ions, organics, and smaller contaminants, often used for softening, colour removal, and partial desalination.
Inlet Water Parameters:
- Conductivity: up to 5,000 µS/cm;
- Hardness: up to 500 mg/L as CaCO3;
- pH: 4.0-10.0;
- Turbidity: < 1 NTU (pre-filtered).
Outlet Water Parameters:
- Conductivity: typically reduced by 50-80%;
- Hardness: < 50 mg/L as CaCO3;
- Organic removal: up to 90%;
- pH: 5.5-8.5.
Plant Capacity Range:
- Small-scale: 5-50 m3/day;
- Medium-scale: 50-500 m3/day;
- Large-scale: 500-5,000 m3/day,
commonly used for industrial water recycling and partial desalination.
